Navratri Mata Rani Shringaar: Solah Shringaar Items and How to Choose Them

During Navratri, devotees adorn Mata Rani with solah shringaar – the sixteen adornments of a married woman – as an offering of love and devotion. Many of these are jewellery. This guide lists the pieces most commonly used for a Mata Rani or Durga Maa idol and helps you choose the right size.

Mata Rani jewellery checklist

Along with the jewellery, devotees usually offer a chunri, bangles, sindoor, mehendi and other items of shringaar.

Buy a complete set or separate pieces?

A set gives every piece in a matching design. Our 15 inch Mata Rani set includes chandrika, choker, haar, bangles, kamarband, payal, nath, earrings, bindi and sarpech, and we also have a 12 inch set. If your idol is a different size, choose separate pieces using the measurements on each product.

Choosing the size

Mata Rani idols are usually measured by height in inches. Measure your idol from base to crown, then check the size listed on each product. Chokers and bangles should be slightly loose so they don't press on the idol. Not sure? WhatsApp a photo to +91 62677 19149.
