How to Dress Laddu Gopal: Step-by-Step Daily Shringaar Guide

Dressing Laddu Gopal is one of the most joyful parts of seva. If you are new to it, this step-by-step guide shows a simple order that keeps the poshak neat and the jewellery secure. Follow your own family traditions where they differ.

What you need

Or start with a complete Laddu Gopal set.

Step by step

  1. After snan, dry completely. Moisture dulls jewellery polish.
  2. Dress the poshak. Put on the lower garment first, then the jama or top, and tie it gently.
  3. Choker, then haar. The choker sits close to the neck; a longer haar goes over it.
  4. Bangles and payal. Slide them on gently – if a bangle is tight, use the next size up.
  5. Kamarband (optional) over the poshak at the waist.
  6. Earrings.
  7. Mukut. Centre it on the head, then add the morpankh or chandrika.
  8. Bansi in the hand to finish.

Getting sizes right

Everything is sized by your Laddu Gopal's number. Compare the mukut diameter and choker neck size on each product with our Laddu Gopal size chart, or WhatsApp a photo to +91 62677 19149.

At night

Many devotees remove heavy jewellery and the mukut for shayan (rest) and keep a light poshak. Store each piece in its box – see our jewellery care guide.
